Maharashtra has 48 Lok Sabha MPs.

If a Lok Sabha Elections are held now, the Shiv Sena-BJP Alliance led by L.K.Advani and Uddhav Thackeray is expected to win about 40 MPs.

Sonia is aware of the danger to the Congress if Advani dominates the National Scene as the Prime Minister Candidate and the Congress wash out in Maharashtra because of Advani-Uddhav Camaraderie.

Sonia is therefore keen on creating a fresh image for the Congress in Maharashtra.

Sharad Pawar the Coalition Partner in Maharashtra is agreeable to a change of Chief Minister but will not allow anyone hostile to him to be Chief Minister.

Sharad Pawar would like his daughter Supriya Sule to be the Chief Minister but Sonia is ready to make her as Deputy Chief Minister.

Sonia is likely to install the New Chief Minister of Maharashtra in November itself.

Vilasrao Deshmukh is desperately trying to prevent Sonia from sacking him.

Vilasrao is offering more and more Alphonsoes.

Vilasrao has now publicly stated that Bal Thackeray is innocent and had no involvement in the killing of Muslims in Mumbai.

Vilasrao hopes that Sonia will not be able to sack him because of his public support to Bal Thackeray soothing the sentiment of Hindu Voters.

L.K.Advani has demonstrated statesmanship in reuniting the BJP and the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra.

Bal Thackeray symbolises regional Maharashtrianism. That is the strength of the Shiv Sena. Real Politics demanded of Thackeray the vital need to support the Maharashtrian candidate of the Enemy, the Congress in the Presidential Elections. Ideally speaking it is wrong to bring a Regional Flavour in to the Presidential Elections. But the Shiv Sena could not resist the Regional Emotions.

Advani symbolises Nationalism of which Maharashtrianism is a tributary.
Nationalism must not alienate Regionalism since it can degenerate in to separatism.

Advani has therefore correctly and wisely blended Regionalism in to Nationalism by re-uniting the Shiv Sena and the BJP.

In electoral terms, if the Shiv Sena and the BJP fight Elections separately then the Congress-NCP-RPI Alliance would have won 48 of the 48 Lok Sabha Constituencies.

The BJP-Shiv Sena Alliance will now certainly win upward of 40 MPs.

The Combined Vote of the BJP and Shiv Sena arithmetically overwhelms the Congress Alliance.
However that itself would not have done the trick.

The Vilasrao Deshmukh Government is the most corrupt and most incompetent Government in the history of Maharashtra.

That is compounded by the horrible failure the Government in providing a survivable economy for the farmers and agricultural labour.

The Manmohan Government has failed miserably in the Economic, Internal Security and Nationalist Foreign Policy Areas of Governance and thus increases the anger of Maharashtrians against the Congress Alliance.

The Manmohan-Sharad Pawar Regime Scams on Wheat Import-Export and its brazenly Anti-Farmer Attitude makes it highly unpopular among rural voters.

In addition to all these problems is the BSP menace of gulping the traditional Congress Votes of the Dalits, resulting in easy victories for the BJP-Shiv Sena Alliance!

Maharashtra is itching to throw out the corrupt Pawar-Vilasrao NCP-Congress Government.
