The Biggest Ever Earthquake in 77 Years hit the India-Nepal Border Areas after Sunset, in the dark, on 18 September 2011 .

The Earthquake collapsed Mobile Phone Towers across Sikkim and North Bengal . There has been no Telephone Connectivity for the people and the Administration, ever since.

Electricity has been cut off, plunging the entire region in to Darkness.

More than 55 India Army Personnel, reported as Missing, are feared Dead.

The actual number of ordinary persons killed in the Earthquake, will ONLY be known, when the entire affected Region of the North east, North Bengal and Bihar is surveyed by the Army, Police and the Administration during Daylight on 19 September 2011.

There is possible that hundreds have been killed and more than a thousand injured.  

Until Now, the Body Count of the Dead is 25. 4 in Bihar . 7 in Darjiling Area in North Bengal . 14 in Sikkim .

There have been massive Landslides, caused by the combined effect of the Earthquake and Heavy Rain.

The Quake shook the Earth and the Rain poured it down.

All the Roads in Sikkim and several in North Bengal are severely damaged, blocked and impossible for any travel.

The India Air Force is running Sorties to Drop Food for those Trapped in the Hill Region after their Homes have been smashed by the Earthquake.  

The Army, the Indian Tibetan Border Police, Security Forces and the Police have launched a massive effort, braving the adverse circumstances of Slippery Earth and Heavy Rain, in the Mountain Region of Sikkim and North Bengal.

Several Army Soldiers have died during the Relief Operations in the Night.

A Bus full of Army Soldiers is also Missing.

The Actual Count of the Tragedy will be known ONLY on 20 September 2011 , after the Administration accesses Every Populated Locality.

The Tragic Impact of the devastating Sikkim Earthquake has been felt by Everyone in India and Nepal .

The Prime Minister and Several Chief Ministers including Mamata Banerjee and Narendra Modi have phoned him, offering Relief and Resources.
